It has taken me awhile to do another blog update because I’m just not sure what to talk about right now. Justin and I have had some good interviews with people from a small community called Stony Plain, about half an hour outside Edmonton. The people have been friendly, and the stories have been impactful. But maybe for me, the reality is starting to sink in that this is my life for now. It’s not that I am just visiting with a few people and then going home. It’s not an extended road trip that we will be wrapping up when we choose and going back to our normal lives.
We are in our third host home, meeting with our second set of people. We are both excited to be doing Pockets of Change, and honoured that we have been given the opportunity to do this. Yet it is a very different life now, one that will take some getting used to.
We have again been amazed at God’s blessing showering on our lives right now. My old friend from Cranbrook and her husband live in Edmonton, and have welcomed us with open arms to their place. We have had a very blessed time with them, catching up on life, eating humongous bowls of Vietnemese food and staying up late discussing everything from faith to rabbits. I praise God that He has given us pockets of time for reconnecting with friends in the midst of our project.
